1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
3:1 AlifLaamMeem.
# الــم 1
|@ Allah declares His Oneness 3:2
3:2 Allah! There is no god except He, the Living, the Everlasting.
# اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الحَيُّ القَيُّومُ 2
|@ Guidance in the original Torah, Gospel and the unchanged Arabic Koran 3:3-4
3:3 He has sent down to you the Book with the truth, confirming what preceded it; and He has sent down the Torah and the Gospel (of Prophet Jesus which has been lost)
# نَزَّلَ عَلَيْكَ الكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ وَأَنزَلَ التَّوْرَاةَ وَالإِنجِيلَ 3
3:4 before, as a guidance for people, and He sent down the Criterion. As for those who disbelieve in the verses of Allah, for them is an intense punishment. Allah is Mighty, Owner of Vengeance.
# مِن قَبْلُ هُدًى لِّلنَّاسِ وَأَنزَلَ الفُرْقَانَ إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ شَدِيدٌ وَاللَّهُ عَزِيزٌ ذُو انتِقَامٍ 4
|@ Nothing is hidden from Allah 3:5
3:5 Nothing on earth or in heaven is hidden from Allah.
# إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَخْفَى عَلَيهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلاَ فِي السَّمَاءِ 5
|@ Pregnancy, the hidden creation 3:6
3:6 It is He who shapes you in your mothers’ wombs as He wills. There is no god except Him, the Almighty, the Wise.
# هُوَ الَّذِي يُصَوِّرُكُمْ فِي الأَرْحَامِ كَيْفَ يَشَاءُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ العَزِيزُ الحَكِيمُ 6
|@ Those whose hearts swerve with disbelief 3:7-8
3:7 It is He who has sent down to you the Book. Some of its verses are precise in meaning they are the foundation of the Book and others obscure. Those whose hearts are swerving with disbelief, follow the obscure desiring sedition and desiring its interpretation, but no one knows its interpretation except Allah. Those who are well-grounded in knowledge say, ‘We believe in it, it is all from our Lord. And none remember except those who are possessed of minds.
# هُوَ الَّذِي أَنزَلَ عَلَيْكَ الكِتَابَ مِنْهُ آيَاتٌ مُّحْكَمَاتٌ هُنَّ أُمُّ الكِتَابِ وَأُخَرُ مُتَشَابِهَاتٌ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ زَيْغٌ فَيَتَّبِعُونَ مَا تَشَابَهَ مِنْهُ ابْتِغَاءَ الفِتْنَةِ وَابْتِغَاءَ تَأَوِيلِهِ وَمَا يَعْلَمُ تَأْوِيلَهُ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَالرَّاسِخُونَ فِي العِلْمِ يَقُولُونَ آمَنَّا بِهِ كُلٌّ مِّنْ عِندِ رَبِّنَا وَمَا يَذَّكَّرُ إِلاَّ أُوْلُوا الأَلْبَابِ 7
3:8 Lord, do not cause our hearts to swerve after You have guided us. Grant us Your Mercy. You are the Embracing Giver.
# رَبَّنَا لاَ تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الوَهَّابُ 8
|@ Allah does not break His promise 3:9
3:9 Lord, You will surely gather all the people for a Day that will come in which there is no doubt.’ Allah will not break His promise.
# رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ النَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لاَّ رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُخْلِفُ المِيعَادَ 9
|@ The worldly status of those who disbelieve will amount to nothing on the Day of Judgement 3:10-11
3:10 Those who disbelieve, neither their riches nor their children shall save them from Allah. They shall become the fuel of the Fire.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَن تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلاَ أَوْلادُهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئاً وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ وَقُودُ النَّارِ 10
3:11 Like Pharaoh’s people and those before them who belied Our revelations; Allah seized them in their sinfulness. Allah is firm in inflicting punishment.
# كَدَأْبِ آلِ فِرْعَوْنَ وَالَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا فَأَخَذَهُمُ اللَّهُ بِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ شَدِيدُ العِقَابِ 11
3:12 Say to those who disbelieve, ‘You shall be overcome and gathered into Gehenna (Hell), an evil cradling!’
# قُل لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا سَتُغْلَبُونَ وَتُحْشَرُونَ إِلَى جَهَنَّمَ وَبِئْسَ المِهَادُ 12
|@ The encounter at Badr 3:13
3:13 Indeed, there was a sign for you in the two armies which met on the battlefield. One was fighting in the way of Allah, and another unbelieving. They (the believers) saw with their eyes that they were twice their own number. Allah strengthens with His victory whom He will. Surely, in that there was a lesson for those possessed of eyes.
# قَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ آيَةٌ فِي فِئَتَيْنِ التَقَتَا فِئَةٌ تُقَاتِلُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَأُخْرَى كَافِرَةٌ يَرَوْنَهُم مِّثْلَيْهِمْ رَأْيَ العَيْنِ وَاللَّهُ يُؤَيِّدُ بِنَصْرِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَعِبْرَةً لأُوْلِي الأَبْصَارِ 13
|@ The enjoyment of this worldly life 3:14
3:14 Decorated for people are the desires of women, offspring, and of heaped up piles of gold and silver, of pedigree horses, cattle, and sown fields. These are the enjoyments of the worldly life, but with Allah is the best return.
# زُيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ حُبُّ الشَّهَوَاتِ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ وَالْبَنِينَ وَالْقَنَاطِيرِ المُقَنطَرَةِ مِنَ الذَّهَبِ وَالْفِضَّةِ وَالْخَيْلِ المُسَوَّمَةِ وَالأَنْعَامِ وَالْحَرْثِ ذَلِكَ مَتَاعُ الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَاللَّهُ عِندَهُ حُسْنُ المَآبِ 14
|@ The reward of believers 3:15
3:15 Say, ‘Shall I tell you of a better thing than that? For the cautious with their Lord, theirs shall be Gardens underneath which rivers flow, where they shall live for ever, and purified spouses, and pleasure from Allah.’ Allah is watching over His worshipers.
# قُلْ أَؤُنَبِّئُكُم بِخَيْرٍ مِّن ذَلِكُمْ لِلَّذِينَ اتَّقَوْا عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَأَزْوَاجٌ مُّطَهَّرَةٌ وَرِضْوَانٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ 15
|@ Check list for Muslims and those who want to check Muslims 3:16-17
3:16 Those are they who say, ‘Lord, we believe in You, forgive us our sins and save us from the punishment of the Fire’,
# الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ 16
3:17 who are patient, truthful, obedient, and charitable, and who ask forgiveness at dawn.
# الصَّابِرِينَ وَالصَّادِقِينَ وَالْقَانِتِينَ وَالْمُنفِقِينَ وَالْمُسْتَغْفِرِينَ بِالأَسْحَارِ 17
|@ The witnessing of Allah and His angels that He is One 3:18
3:18 Allah bears witness that there is no god except He, and so do the angels and the knowledgeable. He upholds justice there is no god except He, the Mighty, the Wise.
# شَهِدَ اللَّهُ أَنَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ وَالْمَلائِكَةُ وَأُوْلُوا العِلْمِ قَائِماً بِالْقِسْطِ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ العَزِيزُ الحَكِيمُ 18
|@ Islam and those who disbelieve the verses of Allah 3:19-25
3:19 The only religion with Allah is Islam (submission). Those to whom the Book was given disagreed among themselves only after knowledge had been given to them being insolent among themselves. He who disbelieves the verses of Allah indeed Allah is Swift in reckoning.
# إِنَّ الدِّينَ عِندَ اللَّهِ الإِسْلامُ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الكِتَابَ إِلاَّ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ العِلْمُ بَغْياً بَيْنَهُمْ وَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ سَرِيعُ الحِسَابِ 19
$ Invitation to Jews, Nazarenes and Christians 3:20
3:20 If they argue with you, say, ‘I have submitted my face to Allah and so have those who follow me.’ To those who have received the Book (Jews and Nazarenes) and to the ignorant, ask, ‘Have you submitted yourselves to Allah?’ If they became Muslims they were guided, if they turn away, then your only duty is to warn them. Allah is watching over all His worshipers.
# فَإِنْ حَاجُّوكَ فَقُلْ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّهِ وَمَنِ اتَّبَعَنِ وَقُل لِّلَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الكِتَابَ وَالأُمِّيِّينَ ءَأَسْلَمْتُمْ فَإِنْ أَسْلَمُواْ فَقَدِ اهْتَدَوْا وَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّمَا عَلَيْكَ البَلاغُ وَاللَّهُ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ 20
|@Regarding punishment of those disbelieve the verses of Allah
3:21 Those who disbelieve the verses of Allah and slay the Prophets unjustly, and slay those who bid to justice give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment!
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ النَّبِيِّينَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ وَيَقْتُلُونَ الَّذِينَ يَأْمُرُونَ بِالْقِسْطِ مِنَ النَّاسِ فَبَشِّرْهُم بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ 21
3:22 Their works shall be annulled in this world and in the Everlasting Life, and there shall be none to help them.
# أُوْلَئِكَ الَّذِينَ حَبِطَتْ أَعْمَالُهُمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ 22
3:23 Have you not seen those who have received a portion of the Book being called to the Book of Allah, that it might judge between them, and some turned away, swerving aside.
# أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَى الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا نَصِيباً مِّنَ الكِتَابِ يُدْعَوْنَ إِلَى كِتَابِ اللَّهِ لِيَحْكُمَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ يَتَوَلَّى فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ 23
|@ The false claim of the Jews 3:24-25
3:24 For they say, ‘The Fire will not touch us except for a certain number of days.’ And the lies they forged have deluded them in their religion.
# ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَن تَمَسَّنَا النَّارُ إِلاَّ أَيَّاماً مَّعْدُودَاتٍ وَغَرَّهُمْ فِي دِينِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَفْتَرُونَ 24
3:25 How will it be when We gather them for a Day in which there is no doubt, when every soul will be given what it has earned and they will not be wronged?
# فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جَمَعْنَاهُمْ لِيَوْمٍ لاَّ رَيْبَ فِيهِ وَوُفِّيَتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لاَ يُظْلَمُونَ 25
|@ The power and signs of Allah 3:26-27
3:26 Say, ‘O Allah, Owner of the Kingdom. You give the kingdom to whom You will, and take it away from whom You will, You exalt whom You will and abase whom You will. In Your Hand is good, You have power over all things.
# قُلِ اللَّهُمَّ مَالِكَ المُلْكِ تُؤْتِي المُلْكَ مَن تَشَاءُ وَتَنزِعُ المُلْكَ مِمَّن تَشَاءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَن تَشَاءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَن تَشَاءُ بِيَدِكَ الخَيْرُ إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 26
3:27 You cause the night to enter into the day, and the day to enter into the night. You bring forth the living from the dead and the dead from the living. You provide without reckoning to whom You will.’
# تُولِجُ اللَّيْلَ فِي النَّهَارِ وَتُولِجُ النَّهَارَ فِي اللَّيْلِ وَتُخْرِجُ الحَيَّ مِنَ المَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ المَيِّتَ مِنَ الحَيِّ وَتَرْزُقُ مَن تَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ 27
|@ Faith first 3:28
3:28 The believers should not take the unbelievers as guides in preference to the believers he who does this does not belong to Allah in anything, unless you have a fear of them. Allah warns you to be cautious of Him, the arrival is to Allah.
# لاَ يَتَّخِذِ المُؤْمِنُونَ الكَافِرِينَ أَوْلِيَاءَ مِن دُونِ المُؤْمِنِينَ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَلِكَ فَلَيْسَ مِنَ اللَّهِ فِي شَيْءٍ إِلاَّ أَن تَتَّقُوا مِنْهُمْ تُقَاةً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ المَصِيرُ 28
|@ The knowledge and power of Allah 3:29
3:29 Say, ‘Whether you hide what is in your hearts or reveal it, Allah knows it. He knows all that is in the heavens and earth and has power over all things.’
# قُلْ إِن تُخْفُوا مَا فِي صُدُورِكُمْ أَوْ تُبْدُوهُ يَعْلَمْهُ اللَّهُ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ وَاللَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 29
|@ The Day of Judgement and the worshipers of Allah 3:30
3:30 The Day that every soul shall find what it has done of good brought forward, and what it has done of evil, it will wish if there were only a far space between it and that (Day). Allah warns you to be wary of Him; and Allah is Gentle with His worshipers.
# يَوْمَ تَجِدُ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا عَمِلَتْ مِنْ خَيْرٍ مُّحْضَراًّ وَمَا عَمِلَتْ مِن سُوءٍ تَوَدُّ لَوْ أَنَّ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَهُ أَمَداً بَعِيداً وَيُحَذِّرُكُمُ اللَّهُ نَفْسَهُ وَاللَّهُ رَءُوفٌ بِالْعِبَادِ 30
|@ If you really love your Creator 3:31
3:31 Say (Prophet Muhammad), ‘If you love Allah, follow me and Allah will love you, and forgive your sins. Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.’
# قُلْ إِن كُنتُمْ تُحِبُّونَ اللَّهَ فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَغْفِرْ لَكُمْ ذُنُوبَكُمْ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ 31
$ Condition of unbelievers 3:32
3:32 Say, ‘Obey Allah and the Messenger.’ But if they turn away, then truly, Allah does not love the unbelievers.
# قُلْ أَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يُحِبُّ الكَافِرِينَ 32
|@ Prophets from the same lineage 3:33-34
3:33 Allah chose Adam and Noah, the House of Abraham and the House of Imran above all worlds.
# إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى آدَمَ وَنُوحاً وَآلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَآلَ عِمْرَانَ عَلَى العَالَمِينَ 33
3:34 They were the offspring of one another. Allah is Hearing, and Knowing.
# ذُرِّيَّةً بَعْضُهَا مِنْ بَعْضٍ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 34
|@ The supplication of the mother of the Virgin Mary 3:35-36
3:35 (Remember) when the wife of ‘Imran said, ‘Lord, I have vowed to You in dedication that which is hidden inside me. Accept this from me. You are the Hearer, the Knower.’
# إِذْ قَالَتِ امْرَأَةُ عِمْرَانَ رَبِّ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ لَكَ مَا فِي بَطْنِي مُحَرَّراً فَتَقَبَّلْ مِنِّي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ العَلِيمُ 35
3:36 And when she was delivered of her, she said, ‘Lord, I have given birth to her, a female’ Allah knew of what she had given birth the male is not like the female ‘and I have called her Mary. Protect her and all her descendants from satan, the stoned one.’
# فَلَمَّا وَضَعَتْهَا قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَضَعْتُهَا أُنثَى وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا وَضَعَتْ وَلَيْسَ الذَّكَرُ كَالأُنثَى وَإِنِّي سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّي أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ 36
|@ Mary and Prophet Zachariah 3:37
3:37 Her Lord graciously accepted her. He made her grow with a fine upbringing and entrusted her to the care of Zachariah. Whenever Zachariah went to her in the sanctuary, he found that she had provision with her. ‘Mary, ‘ he said, ‘how does this come to you?’ ‘It is from Allah,’ she answered. Truly, Allah provides whomsoever He will without reckoning.
# فَتَقَبَّلَهَا رَبُّهَا بِقَبُولٍ حَسَنٍ وَأَنْبَتَهَا نَبَاتاً حَسَناً وَكَفَّلَهَا زَكَرِيَّا كُلَّمَا دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا زَكَرِيَّا المِحْرَابَ وَجَدَ عِندَهَا رِزْقاً قَالَ يَا مَرْيَمُ أَنَّى لَكِ هَذَا قَالَتْ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَرْزُقُ مَن يَشَاءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ 37
|@ Zacahariah supplicates for a son 3:38-41
3:38 Thereupon Zachariah supplicated to his Lord, saying, ‘Lord, give me from You a good offspring. You hear all prayers.’
# هُنَالِكَ دَعَا زَكَرِيَّا رَبَّهُ قَالَ رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ 38
3:39 And the angels called out to him when he was standing in the sanctuary worshipping, saying, ‘Allah gives you glad tidings of John, who shall confirm a Word from Allah. He shall be a master and chaste, a Prophet and from the righteous.’
# فَنَادَتْهُ المَلائِكَةُ وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي فِي المِحْرَابِ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكَ بِيَحْيَى مُصَدِّقاً بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَسَيِّداً وَحَصُوراً وَنَبِياًّ مِّنَ الصَّالِحِينَ 39
3:40 He said, ‘Lord, how shall I have a son when I am overtaken by old age and my wife is barren?’ He said, ‘Even so, Allah does what He will.’
# قَالَ رَبِّ أَنَّى يَكُونُ لِي غُلامٌ وَقَدْ بَلَغَنِيَ الكِبَرُ وَامْرَأَتِي عَاقِرٌ قَالَ كَذَلِكَ اللَّهُ يَفْعَلُ مَا يَشَاءُ 40
3:41 He said, ‘Lord, appoint for me a sign.’ He said, ‘Your sign is that you shall not speak to people except by signs for three days.’ And remember your Lord abundantly, exalt Him in the evening and at the dawn.’
# قَالَ رَبِّ اجْعَل لِّي آيَةً قَالَ آيَتُكَ أَلاَّ تُكَلِّمَ النَّاسَ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلاَّ رَمْزاً وَاذْكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيراً وَسَبِّحْ بِالْعَشِيِّ وَالإِبْكَارِ 41
|@ Allah chooses and purifies Mary 3:42-43
3:42 And when the angels said to Mary, ‘Allah has chosen you and purified you. He has chosen you above all women of the worlds.
# وَإِذْ قَالَتِ المَلائِكَةُ يَا مَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَاكِ وَطَهَّرَكِ وَاصْطَفَاكِ عَلَى نِسَاءِ العَالَمِينَ 42
3:43 Mary, be obedient to your Lord, prostrate and bow with those who bow.’
# يَا مَرْيَمُ اقْنُتِي لِرَبِّكِ وَاسْجُدِي وَارْكَعِي مَعَ الرَّاكِعِينَ 43
|@ Guardianship of Mary 3:44
3:44 This is from the news of the unseen. We reveal it to you (Prophet Muhammad). You were not present when they cast their quills to see which of them should look after Mary, nor were you present when they were disputing.
# ذَلِكَ مِنْ أَنْبَاءِ الغَيْبِ نُوحِيهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يُلْقُونَ أَقْلامَهُمْ أَيُّهُمْ يَكْفُلُ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا كُنتَ لَدَيْهِمْ إِذْ يَخْتَصِمُونَ 44
|@ The miraculous conception of the Messiah, Prophet Jesus 3:45-51
3:45 When the angels said, ‘O Mary, Allah gives you glad tidings of a Word (Be) from Him, whose name is Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary. He shall be honored in this world and in the Everlasting Life and he shall be among those who are close.
# إِذْ قَالَتِ المَلائِكَةُ يَا مَرْيَمُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُبَشِّرُكِ بِكَلِمَةٍ مِّنْهُ اسْمُهُ المَسِيحُ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَجِيهاً فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمِنَ المُقَرَّبِينَ 45
3:46 He shall speak to people in his cradle and when he is aged, and shall be among the righteous.’
# وَيُكَلِّمُ النَّاسَ فِي المَهْدِ وَكَهْلاً وَمِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ 46
3:47 ‘Lord, ‘ she said, ‘how can I bear a child when no human being has touched me?’ He replied, ‘Such is the Will of Allah. He creates whom He will. When He decrees a thing, He only says, “Be,” and it is.
# قَالَتْ رَبِّ أَنَّى يَكُونُ لِي وَلَدٌ وَلَمْ يَمْسَسْنِي بَشَرٌ قَالَ كَذَلِكِ اللَّهُ يَخْلُقُ مَا يَشَاءُ إِذَا قَضَى أَمْراً فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ 47
|@ Mission of Prophet Jesus, who was given his own Gospel 3:48-53
3:48 He will teach him the Book, the Wisdom, the Torah and the Gospel,
# وَيُعَلِّمُهُ الكِتَابَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ وَالتَّوْرَاةَ وَالإِنجِيلَ 48
$ Jesus, a Messenger sent for the Children of Israel, the lost sheep of Israel and his miracles 3:49
3:49 to be a Messenger to the Children of Israel, (saying), “I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. From clay, I will create for you the likeness of a bird. I shall breathe into it and by the permission of Allah, it shall be a bird. I shall heal the blind, and the leper, and raise the dead to life by the permission of Allah. I shall tell you what you ate and what you store in your houses. Surely, that will be a sign for you, if you are believers.
# وَرَسُولاً إِلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنِّي قَدْ جِئْتُكُم بِآيَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ أَنِّي أَخْلُقُ لَكُم مِّنَ الطِّينِ كَهَيْئَةِ الطَّيْرِ فَأَنفُخُ فِيهِ فَيَكُونُ طَيْراً بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَأُبْرِئُ الأَكْمَهَ وَالأبْرَصَ وَأُحْيِي المَوْتَى بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ وَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا تَأْكُلُونَ وَمَا تَدَّخِرُونَ فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لآيَةً لَّكُمْ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 49
$ Jesus tells the Jews to fear and worship Allah, and to obey him, their prophet 3:50-51
3:50 Likewise confirming the Torah that has been before me and to make lawful to you some of the things you have been forbidden. I bring you a sign from your Lord, therefore, fear Allah and obey me.
# وَمُصَدِّقاً لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيَّ مِنَ التَّوْرَاةِ وَلأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ الَّذِي حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَجِئْتُكُم بِآيَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ 50
3:51 Allah is my Lord and your Lord, therefore, worship Him. This is the Straight Path”.’
# إِنَّ اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُوهُ هَذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ 51
|@ The disciples of Prophet Jesus 3:52-53
3:52 When (Prophet) Jesus felt their disbelief, he said, ‘Who will be my helpers in the way of Allah?’ The disciples replied, ‘We are the helpers of Allah. We believe in Allah. Bear witness that we are submitters (Muslims).
# فَلَمَّا أَحَسَّ عِيسَى مِنْهُمُ الكُفْرَ قَالَ مَنْ أَنصَارِي إِلَى اللَّهِ قَالَ الحَوَارِيُّونَ نَحْنُ أَنصَارُ اللَّهِ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَاشْهَدْ بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ 52
3:53 Lord, we have believed in what You sent down and followed the Messenger. Write us among Your witnesses.’
# رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا بِمَا أَنزَلْتَ وَاتَّبَعْنَا الرَّسُولَ فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ 53
|@ The plot to kill Prophet Jesus, the Messiah 3:54-55
3:54 They devised, and Allah devised. And Allah is the Best Devisor.
# وَمَكَرُوا وَمَكَرَ اللَّهُ وَاللَّهُ خَيْرُ المَاكِرِينَ 54
$ The rank of Prophet Jesus 3:55
3:55 Allah said, ‘(Prophet) Jesus, I will take you to Me and will raise you to Me, and I will purify you from those who disbelieve. I will make your followers (who died before Prophet Muhammad) above those who disbelieve till the Day of Resurrection. Then, to Me you shall all return, and I shall judge between you as to that you were at variance.
# إِذْ قَالَ اللَّهُ يَا عِيسَى إِنِّي مُتَوَفِّيكَ وَرَافِعُكَ إِلَيَّ وَمُطَهِّرُكَ مِنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَجَاعِلُ الَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوكَ فَوْقَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا إِلَى يَوْمِ القِيَامَةِ ثُمَّ إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأَحْكُمُ بَيْنَكُمْ فِيمَا كُنتُمْ فِيهِ تَخْتَلِفُونَ 55
3:56 As for those who disbelieve, I will sternly punish them in this world and in the Everlasting Life, there shall be none to help them.
# فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَأُعَذِّبُهُمْ عَذَاباً شَدِيداً فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ 56
3:57 As for those who believe and do good works, He will pay them their wages in full. Allah does not love the harm doers.
# وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ فَيُوَفِّيهِمْ أُجُورَهُمْ وَاللَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ 57
3:58 This, We recite to you of the verses and the Wise Remembrance.
# ذَلِكَ نَتْلُوهُ عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الآيَاتِ وَالذِّكْرِ الحَكِيمِ 58
|@ Likeness of Prophet Jesus to Prophet Adam; challenge to the Christians 3:59-64
3:59 Truly, the likeness of (Prophet) Jesus with Allah, is as the likeness of Adam, He created him from dust then He said to him “Be” and he was.
# إِنَّ مَثَلَ عِيسَى عِندَ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ آدَمَ خَلَقَهُ مِن تُرَابٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ لَهُ كُن فَيَكُونُ 59
3:60 The truth is from your Lord, therefore, do not be among the doubters.
# الحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلاَ تَكُن مِّنَ المُمْتَرِينَ 60
3:61 (To)Those who dispute with you concerning him after the knowledge has come to you, say, ‘Come, let us gather our sons and your sons, our womenfolk and your womenfolk, ourselves and yourselves. Then let us humbly pray, so lay the curse of Allah upon the ones who lie.’
# فَمَنْ حَاجَّكَ فِيهِ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَكَ مِنَ العِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْا نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءَنَا وَأَبْنَاءَكُمْ وَنِسَاءَنَا وَنِسَاءَكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وَأَنْفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَةَ اللَّهِ عَلَى الكَاذِبِينَ 61
3:62 This is indeed the truthful narration. There is no god except Allah. It is Allah who is the Almighty, the Wise.
# إِنَّ هَذَا لَهُوَ القَصَصُ الحَقُّ وَمَا مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَهُوَ العَزِيزُ الحَكِيمُ 62
3:63 If they turn away, Allah knows the evildoers.
# فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُفْسِدِينَ 63
|@ Invitation to the Jews and Christians 3:64
3:64 Say, ‘People of the Book, let us come to a common word between us and you that we will worship none except Allah, that we will associate none with Him, and that none of us take others for lords besides Allah.’ If they turn away, say, ‘Bear witness that we are Muslims.’
# قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ تَعَالَوْا إِلَى كَلِمَةٍ سَوَاءٍ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَكُمْ أَلاَّ نَعْبُدَ إِلاَّ اللَّهَ وَلاَ نُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئاً وَلاَ يَتَّخِذَ بَعْضُنَا بَعْضاً أَرْبَاباً مِّن دُونِ اللَّهِ فَإِن تَوَلَّوْا فَقُولُوا اشْهَدُوا بِأَنَّا مُسْلِمُونَ 64
|@ Abraham and the claim of the Jews, Nazarenes and Christians 3:65-68
3:65 People of the Book, why do you dispute about Abraham when both the Torah and the Gospel were not sent down till after him? Have you no sense?
# يَا أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ لِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِي إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمَا أُنزِلَتِ التَّوْرَاةُ وَالإِنجِيلُ إِلاَّ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ أَفَلاَ تَعْقِلُونَ 65
3:66 Indeed, you have disputed about that which you have knowledge. Why then dispute about that of which you have no knowledge? Allah knows and you do not know.
# هَا أَنتُمْ هَؤُلاءِ حَاجَجْتُمْ فِيمَا لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلِمَ تُحَاجُّونَ فِيمَا لَيْسَ لَكُم بِهِ عِلْمٌ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ وَأَنْتُمْ لاَ تَعْلَمُونَ 66
3:67 No, Abraham was neither a Jew nor a Nazarene. He was of pure faith, a submitter (Muslim). He was never of the idolaters.
# مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِياًّ وَلاَ نَصْرَانِياًّ وَلَكِن كَانَ حَنِيفاً مُّسْلِماً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ المُشْرِكِينَ 67
|@ Those nearest to Abraham 3:65
3:68 Surely, the people who are nearest to Abraham are those who followed him, and this Prophet (Muhammad), and those who believe. Allah is the Guardian of the believers.
# إِنَّ أَوْلَى النَّاسِ بِإِبْرَاهِيمَ لَلَّذِينَ اتَّبَعُوهُ وَهَذَا النَّبِيُّ وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّ المُؤْمِنِينَ 68
3:69 Some of the People of the Book wish to make you go astray, but they lead none astray except themselves, though they do not sense it.
# وَدَّت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الكِتَابِ لَوْ يُضِلُّونَكُمْ وَمَا يُضِلُّونَ إِلاَّ أَنفُسَهُمْ وَمَا يَشْعُرُونَ 69
|@ Questioning of the People of the Book, Torah and Bible 3:70-71
3:70 People of the Book! Why do you disbelieve the verses of Allah while you are witness?
# يَا أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَأَنْتُمْ تَشْهَدُونَ 70
3:71 People of the Book! Why do you confound truth with falsehood, and knowingly hide the truth?
# يَا أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الحَقَّ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ 71
|@ Deceit and hypocrisy of some of the People of the Book 3:72
3:72 Some of the People of the Book say, ‘Believe in that which is sent down to those who believe at the beginning of the day and disbelieve at the end of it, so that they will return.
# وَقَالَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْ أَهْلِ الكِتَابِ آمِنُوا بِالَّذِي أُنزِلَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَجْهَ النَّهَارِ وَاكْفُرُوا آخِرَهُ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْجِعُونَ 72
$ Guidance 3:73-74
3:73 Believe none except those who follow your own religion.’ Say, ‘The true guidance is the Guidance of Allah that anyone should be given the like of what you have been given, or dispute with you before your Lord.’ Say, ‘Bounty is in the Hand of Allah.’ He gives it to whomsoever He will. Allah is the Embracer, the Knower.
# وَلاَ تُؤْمِنُوا إِلاَّ لِمَن تَبِعَ دِينَكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ الهُدَى هُدَى اللَّهِ أَن يُؤْتَى أَحَدٌ مِّثْلَ مَا أُوتِيتُمْ أَوْ يُحَاجُّوكُمْ عِندَ رَبِّكُمْ قُلْ إِنَّ الفَضْلَ بِيَدِ اللَّهِ يُؤْتِيـهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ وَاسِعٌ عَلِيمٌ 73
3:74 He singles out for His Mercy whom He will. And Allah is of abundant bounty.
# يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الفَضْلِ العَظِيمِ 74
|@ Honesty and dishonesty; lying against Allah 3:75
3:75 Among the People of the Book there are some, who, if you trust him with a Qintar (98,841:6 lbs.), will return it to you, and there are others, who, if you trust him with a dinar will not hand it back unless you stand over him, for they say, ‘As for the common people, they have no recourse to us.’ They say lies against Allah while they know.
# وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الكِتَابِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لاَّ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِلاَّ مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَائِماً ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُوا لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الأُمِّيِّينَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ 75
3:76 Rather, those who keep their promise and fear Allah, Allah loves the cautious.
# بَلَى مَنْ أَوْفَى بِعَهْدِهِ وَاتَّقَى فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ المُتَّقِينَ 76
|@ Promises and oaths 3:77
3:77 Those who sell the promise of Allah and their own oaths for a little price shall have no share in the Everlasting Life. Allah will neither speak to them, nor look at them, nor purify them on the Day of Resurrection. Theirs shall be a painful punishment.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَشْتَرُونَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَيْمَانِهِمْ ثَمَناًّ قَلِيلاً أُوْلَئِكَ لاَ خَلاقَ لَهُمْ فِي الآخِرَةِ وَلاَ يُكَلِّمُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلاَ يَنظُرُ إِلَيْهِمْ يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ وَلاَ يُزَكِّيهِمْ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ 77
|@ Perverting the truth in the Holy Books 3:78
3:78 And there is a sect among them who twist their tongues with the Book, so you will think it is from the Book, whereas it is not from the Book. They say, ‘This is from Allah,’ whereas it is not from Allah. And they knowingly tell lies against Allah.
# وَإِنَّ مِنْهُمْ لَفَرِيقاً يَلْوُونَ أَلْسِنَتَهُم بِالْكِتَابِ لِتَحْسَبُوهُ مِنَ الكِتَابِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنَ الكِتَابِ وَيَقُولُونَ هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَمَا هُوَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللَّهِ الكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ 78
|@ The mission of all the prophets 3:79-81
3:79 No human to whom Allah has given the (Holy) Book, Judgement and Prophethood would say to the people, ‘Be worshipers of me, other than Allah.’ But rather, ‘Be of the Lord, for that you teach the Book, and in that you have studied.’
# مَا كَانَ لِبَشَرٍ أَن يُؤْتِيَهُ اللَّهُ الكِتَابَ وَالْحُكْمَ وَالنُّبُوَّةَ ثُمَّ يَقُولَ لِلنَّاسِ كُونُوا عِبَاداً لِّي مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِن كُونُوا رَبَّانِيِّينَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تُعَلِّمُونَ الكِتَابَ وَبِمَا كُنتُمْ تَدْرُسُونَ 79
$ All the prophets worshipped One God 3:80
3:80 Nor would he order you to take the angels and the prophets for lords, what, would he order you with disbelief after you were submitters (Muslims)!
# وَلاَ يَأْمُرَكُمْ أَن تَتَّخِذُوا المَلائِكَةَ وَالنَّبِيِّينَ أَرْبَاباً أَيَأْمُرُكُم بِالْكُفْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ أَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ 80
|@ Covenant taken with the prophets 3:81
3:81 And when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, ‘That I have given you of the Book and Wisdom. Then there shall come to you a Messenger (Muhammad) confirming what is with you, you shall believe in him and you shall support him to be victorious, do you agree and take My load on this?’ They answered, ‘We do agree.’ Allah said, ‘Then bear witness, and I will be with you among the witnesses.’
# وَإِذْ أَخَذَ اللَّهُ مِيثَاقَ النَّبِيِّينَ لَمَا آتَيْتُكُم مِّن كِتَابٍ وَحِكْمَةٍ ثُمَّ جَاءَكُمْ رَسُولٌ مُّصَدِّقٌ لِّمَا مَعَكُمْ لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ وَلَتَنصُرُنَّهُ قَالَ أَأَقْرَرْتُمْ وَأَخَذْتُمْ عَلَى ذَلِكُمْ إِصْرِي قَالُوا أَقْرَرْنَا قَالَ فَاشْهَدُوا وَأَنَا مَعَكُم مِّنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ 81
3:82 Whosoever turns back after that, they are the transgressors.
# فَمَن تَوَلَّى بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الفَاسِقُونَ 82
3:83 Are they seeking a religion other than that of Allah, and to Him whosoever is in the heavens and the earth has submitted willingly and unwillingly. To Him they shall be returned.
# أَفَغَيْرَ دِينِ اللَّهِ يَبْغُونَ وَلَهُ أَسْلَمَ مَن فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ طَوْعاً وَكَرْهاً وَإِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُونَ 83
|@ Muslims believe in Allah and all His prophets 3:84-85
3:84 Say, ‘We believe in Allah and in what is sent down to us and in that which was sent down to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and the tribes, and in that which was given to (prophets) Moses and Jesus, and the prophets from their Lord. We do not differentiate between any of them. To Him we are submitters (Muslims).’
# قُلْ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا وَمَا أُنزِلَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَإِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَيَعْقُوبَ وَالأَسْبَاطِ وَمَا أُوتِيَ مُوسَى وَعِيسَى وَالنَّبِيُّونَ مِن رَّبِّهِمْ لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّنْهُمْ وَنَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ 84
$ Islam 3:85
3:85 He who chooses a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him, and in the Everlasting Life he will be among the losers.
# وَمَن يَبْتَغِ غَيْرَ الإِسْلامِ دِيناً فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْهُ وَهُوَ فِي الآخِرَةِ مِنَ الخَاسِرِينَ 85
|@ Apostates and the mercy of Allah to those who repent 3:86-90
3:86 How shall Allah guide a people who lapse into disbelief after they believed and bore witness that the Messenger is true, and after receiving clear proofs! Allah does not guide the harm doers.
# كَيْفَ يَهْدِي اللَّهُ قَوْماً كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ وَشَهِدُوا أَنَّ الرَّسُولَ حَقٌّ وَجَاءَهُمُ البَيِّنَاتُ وَاللَّهُ لاَ يَهْدِي القَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ 86
3:87 Those, their recompense shall be the curse of Allah, the angels, and all the people
# أُوْلَئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُمْ أَنَّ عَلَيْهِمْ لَعْنَةَ اللَّهِ وَالْمَلائِكَةِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ 87
3:88 there (in hell) they shall live forever. Their punishment shall not be lightened, nor shall they be given respite.
# خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا لاَ يُخَفَّفُ عَنْهُمُ العَذَابُ وَلاَ هُمْ يُنظَرُونَ 88
3:89 Except those who afterwards repent and mend their ways, Allah is Forgiving and the Most Merciful.
# إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ تَابُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ وَأَصْلَحُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ 89
3:90 Indeed those who disbelieve after they have believed and increase in disbelief, their repentance shall not be accepted. These are those who are astray.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بَعْدَ إِيمَانِهِمْ ثُمَّ ازْدَادُوا كُفْراً لَّن تُقْبَلَ تَوْبَتُهُمْ وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الضَّالُّونَ 90
|@ The condition of those who die in disbelief 3:91
3:91 As for those who disbelieve and die unbelievers, there shall be not accepted from anyone of them, the whole earth full of gold, if he would ransom himself thereby. Those, for them there is a painful punishment, and none shall help them.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَمَاتُوا وَهُمْ كُفَّارٌ فَلَن يُقْبَلَ مِنْ أَحَدِهِم مِّلْءُ الأَرْضِ ذَهَباً وَلَوِ افْتَدَى بِهِ أُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّاصِرِينَ 91
|@ Righteousness 3:92
3:92 You shall not attain righteousness until you spend of what you love. Whatever you spend is known to Allah.
# لَن تَنَالُوا البِرَّ حَتَّى تُنفِقُوا مِمَّا تُحِبُّونَ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا مِن شَيْءٍ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ بِهِ عَلِيمٌ 92
|@ The food of the Children of Israel 3:93
3:93 All food was lawful to the Children of Israel except what Israel forbade himself before the Torah had been sent down. Say, ‘Bring the Torah and recite it, if you are truthful.’
# كُلُّ الطَّعَامِ كَانَ حِلاًّ لِّبَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ إِلاَّ مَا حَرَّمَ إِسْرَائِيلُ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تُنَزَّلَ التَّوْرَاةُ قُلْ فَأْتُوا بِالتَّوْرَاةِ فَاتْلُوهَا إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ 93
3:94 Those who after this invent lies about Allah are harm doers.
# فَمَنِ افْتَرَى عَلَى اللَّهِ الكَذِبَ مِنْ بَعْدِ ذَلِكَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُونَ 94
|@ The creed of Abraham and pilgrimage 3:95
3:95 Say, ‘Allah has said the truth. Follow the Creed of Abraham, he was of pure faith, and not an idolater.’
# قُلْ صَدَقَ اللَّهُ فَاتَّبِعُوا مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفاً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ المُشْرِكِينَ 95
$ The first House of Worship on earth and obligation of pilgrimage 3:96-97
3:96 The first House ever to be built for people was that at Bakkah (Mecca) blessed and a guidance for the worlds.
# إِنَّ أَوَّلَ بَيْتٍ وَضِعَ لِلنَّاسِ لَلَّذِي بِبَكَّةَ مُبَارَكاً وَهُدًى لِّلْعَالَمِينَ 96
3:97 In it, there are clear signs; the station where Abraham stood. Whoever enters it let him be safe. Pilgrimage to the House is a duty to Allah for all who can make the journey. And whosoever disbelieves, Allah is Rich, independent of all the worlds.
# فِيهِ آيَاتٌ بَيِّنَاتٌ مَّقَامُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمَن دَخَلَهُ كَانَ آمِناً وَلِلَّهِ عَلَى النَّاسِ حِجُّ البَيْتِ مَنِ اسْتَطَاعَ إِلَيْهِ سَبِيلاً وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ غَنِيٌّ عَنِ العَالَمِينَ 97
|@ Disbelief in the verses of Allah 3:98-99
3:98 Say, ‘People of the Book, why do you disbelieve the verses of Allah? Surely, Allah is witness to all that you do.’
# قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ لِمَ تَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَاللَّهُ شَهِيدٌ عَلَى مَا تَعْمَلُونَ 98
3:99 Say, ‘People of the Book, why do you bar he who believes from the Path of Allah and seek to make it crooked, when you yourselves are witnesses? Allah is not inattentive of what you do.’
# قُلْ يَا أَهْلَ الكِتَابِ لِمَ تَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ مَنْ آمَنَ تَبْغُونَهَا عِوَجاً وَأَنْتُمْ شُهَدَاءُ وَمَا اللَّهُ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ 99
3:100 Believers, if you obey a sect of those who were given the Book, they will turn you into unbelievers after you have believed.
# يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تُطِيعُوا فَرِيقاً مِّنَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الكِتَابَ يَرُدُّوكُم بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ كَافِرِينَ 100
3:101 How can you disbelieve when the verses of Allah are recited to you and His Messenger is among you! He who holds fast to Allah shall be guided to the Straight Path.
# وَكَيْفَ تَكْفُرُونَ وَأَنْتُمْ تُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ وَفِيكُمْ رَسُولُهُ وَمَن يَعْتَصِم بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ هُدِيَ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ 101
|@ Warning to believers 3:102-106
3:102 Believers, fear Allah as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.
# يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلاَ تَمُوتُنَّ إِلاَّ وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ 102
3:103 And hold fast to the Bond of Allah, together, and do not scatter. Remember the Favor of Allah bestowed upon you when you were enemies, and how He united your hearts, so that by His Favor you became brothers. And how He saved you from the Pit of Fire when you were on the brink of it. And so Allah makes plain to you His verses, in order that you will be guided.
# وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعاً وَلاَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَاناً وَكُنتُمْ عَلَى شَفَا حُفْرَةٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ فَأَنقَذَكُم مِّنْهَا كَذَلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ آيَاتِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ 103
3:104 Let there be one nation of you that shall call to righteousness, ordering honor, and forbidding dishonor. Those are the prosperous.
# وَلْتَكُن مِّنكُمْ أُمَّةٌ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى الخَيْرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَأُوْلَئِكَ هُمُ المُفْلِحُونَ 104
3:105 Do not follow the example of those who became divided and differed with one another after clear proofs had come to them. For those, there is a great punishment.
# وَلاَ تَكُونُوا كَالَّذِينَ تَفَرَّقُوا وَاخْتَلَفُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا جَاءَهُمُ البَيِّنَاتُ وَأُوْلَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ 105
|@ The Day of Judgement 3:106-107
3:106 The Day when faces will be whitened and faces blackened. To those whose faces have become blackened it will be said, ‘Did you disbelieve after you had believed? Then taste the punishment for that you disbelieved!’
# يَوْمَ تَبْيَضُّ وَجُوهٌ وَتَسْوَدُّ وَجُوهٌ فَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ اسْوَدَّتْ وَجُوهُهُمْ أَكَفَرْتُم بَعْدَ إِيمَانِكُمْ فَذُوقُوا العَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ 106
3:107 As for those whose faces will be whitened, they shall be in the Mercy of Allah forever.
# وَأَمَّا الَّذِينَ ابْيَضَّتْ وَجُوهُهُمْ فَفِي رَحْمَةِ اللَّهِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ 107
3:108 Such are the verses of Allah, We recite them to you with truth. Allah does not want injustice for the worlds.
# تِلْكَ آيَاتُ اللَّهِ نَتْلُوهَا عَلَيْكَ بِالْحَقِّ وَمَا اللَّهُ يُرِيدُ ظُلْماً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ 108
|@ The Creator of everything 3:109
3:109 To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. To Him all matters shall return.
# وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ وَإِلَى اللَّهِ تُرْجَعُ الأُمُورُ 109
|@ Islam 3:110
3:110 You are the best nation ever to be brought forth for people. You order honor and forbid dishonor, and you believe in Allah. Had the People of the Book believed, it would have surely been better for them. Some of them are believers, but most of them are evildoers.
# كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَلَوْ آمَنَ أَهْلُ الكِتَابِ لَكَانَ خَيْراً لَّهُم مِّنْهُمُ المُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ الفَاسِقُونَ 110
|@ Unbelievers 3:111-112
3:111 They (the unbelievers) will not harm you except a little hurt. And if they fight against you, they will turn their backs. Then they will not be victorious.
# لَن يَضُرُّوكُمْ إِلاَّ أَذًى وَإِن يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ يُوَلُّوكُمُ الأَدْبَارَ ثُمَّ لاَ يُنصَرُونَ 111
3:112 Abasement shall be pitched upon them wherever they are found, except they are in a bond from Allah, and a bond of the people. They have incurred the Anger of Allah and have been humiliated, because they disbelieved the verses of Allah and unjustly slew His Prophets and because they disobeyed and were transgressors.
# ضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الذِّلَّةُ أَيْنَ مَا ثُقِفُوا إِلاَّ بِحَبْلٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَحَبْلٍ مِّنَ النَّاسِ وَبَاءُوا بِغَضَبٍ مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَضُرِبَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ المَسْكَنَةُ ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا يَكْفُرُونَ بِآيَاتِ اللَّهِ وَيَقْتُلُونَ الأَنبِيَاءَ بِغَيْرِ حَقٍّ ذَلِكَ بِمَا عَصَوْا وَكَانُوا يَعْتَدُونَ 112
|@ Righteous Christians 3:113-115
3:113 Yet they are not all alike. There are among the People of the Book an upstanding nation that recite the verses of Allah (the Koran) throughout the night and prostrate themselves,
# لَيْسُوا سَوَاءً مِّنْ أَهْلِ الكِتَابِ أُمَّةٌ قَائِمَةٌ يَتْلُونَ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ آنَاءَ اللَّيْلِ وَهُمْ يَسْجُدُونَ 113
3:114 who believe in Allah and the Last Day, who order honor and forbid dishonor and race in good works. These are the righteous.
# يُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ وَيَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ المُنكَرِ وَيُسَارِعُونَ فِي الخَيْرَاتِ وَأُوْلَئِكَ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ 114
3:115 Whatever good they do, for them it shall not be denied. Allah knows the cautious.
# وَمَا يَفْعَلُوا مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَلَن يُكْفَرُوهُ وَاللَّهُ عَلِيمٌ بِالْمُتَّقِينَ 115
|@ The people of the Fire 3:116-117
3:116 As for those who disbelieve, neither their riches nor their children shall help them a thing from Allah. They are the people of the Fire, and there they shall remain forever.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لَن تُغْنِيَ عَنْهُمْ أَمْوَالُهُمْ وَلاَ أَوْلادُهُم مِّنَ اللَّهِ شَيْئاً وَأُوْلَئِكَ أَصْحَابُ النَّارِ هُمْ فِيهَا خَالِدُونَ 116
3:117 The wealth they spend in this worldly life is like a freezing wind that smites the harvest of a people who have wronged themselves and destroys it. Allah has not wronged them, but they wronged themselves.
# مَثَلُ مَا يُنفِقُونَ فِي هَذِهِ الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا كَمَثَلِ رِيحٍ فِيهَا صِرٌّ أَصَابَتْ حَرْثَ قَوْمٍ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ فَأَهْلَكَتْهُ وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ اللَّهُ وَلَكِنْ أَنفُسَهُمْ يَظْلِمُونَ 117
|@ The deceit and hypocrisy those who secretly opposed the Prophet in Madinah 3:118-120
3:118 Believers, do not take intimates with other than your own. They spare nothing to ruin you, they yearn for you to suffer. Hatred has already shown itself from their mouths, and what their chests conceal is yet greater. Indeed, We have made clear to you the signs, if you understand.
# يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَتَّخِذُوا بِطَانَةً مِّن دُونِكُمْ لاَ يَأْلُونَكُمْ خَبَالاً وَدُّوا مَا عَنِتُّمْ قَدْ بَدَتِ البَغْضَاءُ مِنْ أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَمَا تُخْفِي صُدُورُهُمْ أَكْبَرُ قَدْ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ الآيَاتِ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ 118
3:119 There you are loving them, and they do not love you. You believe in the entire Book. When they meet you they say, ‘We, believe.’ But when alone, they bite their fingertips at you out of rage. Say, ‘Die in your rage! Allah has knowledge of what is in your chests.’
# هَا أَنتُمْ أُوْلاءِ تُحِبُّونَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِبُّونَكُمْ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِالْكِتَابِ كُلِّهِ وَإِذَا لَقُوكُمْ قَالُوا آمَنَّا وَإِذَا خَلَوْا عَضُّوا عَلَيْكُمُ الأَنَامِلَ مِنَ الغَيْظِ قُلْ مُوتُوا بِغَيْظِكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُورِ 119
3:120 When you are touched with good fortune, they grieve, but when evil befalls you, they rejoice. If you are patient and cautious, their guile will never harm you. Allah encompasses what they do.
# إِن تَمْسَسْكُمْ حَسَنَةٌ تَسُؤْهُمْ وَإِن تُصِبْكُمْ سَيِّئَةٌ يَفْرَحُوا بِهَا وَإِن تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لاَ يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئاً إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ 120
|@ In Allah put your trust 3:121-122
3:121 And when you went out at dawn from your family to lodge the believers in their positions for the battle. Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
# وَإِذْ غَدَوْتَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ تُبَوِّئُ المُؤْمِنِينَ مَقَاعِدَ لِلْقِتَالِ وَاللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ 121
3:122 Two parties of you were about to fail, though Allah was their Guardian, and in Allah believers put all their trust.
# إِذْ هَمَّت طَّائِفَتَانِ مِنكُمْ أَن تَفْشَلا وَاللَّهُ وَلِيُّهُمَا وَعَلَى اللَّهِ فَلْيَتَوَكَّلِ المُؤْمِنُونَ 122
|@ The encounter at Badr 3:123-129
3:123 And Allah most assuredly helped you at Badr when you were humiliated. Therefore, fear Allah, in order that you will give thanks to Him.
# وَلَقَدْ نَصَرَكُمُ اللَّهُ بِبَدْرٍ وَأَنْتُمْ أَذِلَّةٌ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَشْكُرُونَ 123
3:124 When you (Prophet Muhammad) said to the believers, ‘Is it not enough for you that your Lord should reinforce you with three thousand angels sent down upon you?
# إِذْ تَقُولُ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ أَلَن يَكْفِيَكُمْ أَن يُمِدَّكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِثَلاثَةِ آلافٍ مِّنَ المَلائِكَةِ مُنزَلِينَ 124
3:125 Rather, if you have patience and are cautious, and they suddenly come against you, your Lord will reinforce you with five thousand marked angels.’
# بَلَى إِن تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا وَيَأْتُوكُم مِّن فَوْرِهِمْ هَذَا يُمْدِدْكُمْ رَبُّكُم بِخَمْسَةِ آلافٍ مِّنَ المَلائِكَةِ مُسَوِّمِينَ 125
3:126 Allah did not make this to be except as glad tidings for you, so that your hearts might be comforted. Victory comes only from Allah, the Mighty, the Wise.
# وَمَا جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ بُشْرَى لَكُمْ وَلِتَطْمَئِنَّ قُلُوبُكُم بِهِ وَمَا النَّصْرُ إِلاَّ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ العَزِيزِ الحَكِيمِ 126
3:127 And that He might cut off a part of those who disbelieve or suppress them, so that they will turn back, disappointed.
# لِيَقْطَعَ طَرَفاً مِّنَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَوْ يَكْبِتَهُمْ فَيَنقَلِبُوا خَائِبِينَ 127
3:128 No part of the matter is yours whether He turns towards them or punishes them. They are harm-doers.
# لَيْسَ لَكَ مِنَ الأَمْرِ شَيْءٌ أَوْ يَتُوبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَوْ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ ظَالِمُونَ 128
3:129 To Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. He forgives whom He will and punishes whom He will. Allah is Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
# وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي السَّمَوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ يَغْفِرُ لِمَن يَشَاءُ وَيُعَذِّبُ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ 129
|@ Usury 3:130
3:130 Believers, do not consume usury, doubled and redoubled, and fear Allah, in order that you shall prosper.
# يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تَأْكُلُوا الرِّبَا أَضْعَافاً مُّضَاعَفَةً وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ 130
|@ Hell 3:131
3:131 Guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for unbelievers.
# وَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ الَتِي أُعِدَّتْ لِلْكَافِرِينَ 131
|@ Allah is merciful to those who obey Him and His Messenger 3:132-136
3:132 Obey Allah and the Messenger in order to be subjected to mercy.
# وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَالرَّسُولَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ 132
$ The love and forgiveness of Allah 3:133-136
3:133 And hasten to a forgiveness from your Lord and a Paradise as wide as heaven and earth, prepared for the cautious
# وَسَارِعُوا إِلَى مَغْفِرَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرْضُهَا السَّمَوَاتُ وَالأَرْضُ أُعِدَّتْ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ 133
3:134 who spend in prosperity and in adversity, for those who curb their anger and those who forgive people. And Allah loves the charitable
# الَّذِينَ يُنفِقُونَ فِي السَّرَّاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ وَالْكَاظِمِينَ الغَيْظَ وَالْعَافِينَ عَنِ النَّاسِ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ المُحْسِنِينَ 134
$ Repentance and forgiveness 3:135-136
3:135 and those who, if they commit indecency or wrong themselves remember Allah and ask forgiveness of their sins for who but Allah forgives sins and those who do not persist in what they do while they know.
# وَالَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُوا فَاحِشَةً أَوْ ظَلَمُوا أَنفُسَهُمْ ذَكَرُوا اللَّهَ فَاسْتَغْفَرُوا لِذُنُوبِهِمْ وَمَن يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَلَمْ يُصِرُّوا عَلَى مَا فَعَلُوا وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ 135
3:136 Those, their recompense is forgiveness from their Lord and Gardens underneath which rivers flow, where they shall live forever. How excellent is the wage of those who labor.
# أُوْلَئِكَ جَزَاؤُهُم مَّغْفِرَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ وَجَنَّاتٌ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا وَنِعْمَ أَجْرُ العَامِلِينَ 136
|@ Allah does not love the harm doers 3:137-141
3:137 There have been examples before you. Journey in the land and see what was the fate of the liars.
# قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَانظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ المُكَذِّبِينَ 137
3:138 This is a declaration to the people, a guidance and an admonition to the cautious.
# هَذَا بَيَانٌ لِّلنَّاسِ وَهُدًى وَمَوْعِظَةٌ لِّلْمُتَّقِينَ 138
3:139 Do not be weak, neither sorrow while you are the upper ones, if you are believers.
# وَلاَ تَهِنُوا وَلاَ تَحْزَنُوا وَأَنتُمُ الأَعْلَوْنَ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ 139
3:140 If a wound touches you, a similar wound already has touched the nation. Such days We alternate between the people so that Allah knows those who believe, and that He will take witnesses from among you, for Allah does not love the harm-doers,
# إِن يَمْسَسْكُمْ قَرْحٌ فَقَدْ مَسَّ القَوْمَ قَرْحٌ مِّثْلُهُ وَتِلْكَ الأَيَّامُ نُدَاوِلُهَا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَلِيَعْلَمَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَتَّخِذَ مِنكُمْ شُهَدَاءَ وَاللَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ الظَّالِمِينَ 140
3:141 and so that Allah will examine those who believe and efface the unbelievers.
# وَلِيُمَحِّصَ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَيَمْحَقَ الكَافِرِينَ 141
|@ This life 3:142-143
3:142 Did you suppose that you would enter Paradise without Allah knowing those of you who struggled and who were patient?
# أَمْ حَسِبْتُمْ أَن تَدْخُلُوا الجَنَّةَ وَلَمَّا يَعْلَمِ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا مِنكُمْ وَيَعْلَمَ الصَّابِرِينَ 142
3:143 You used to wish for death before you met it, so you have seen it while you were looking.
# وَلَقَدْ كُنتُمْ تَمَنَّوْنَ المَوْتَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن تَلْقَوْهُ فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُمُوهُ وَأَنْتُمْ تَنظُرُونَ 143
|@ Prophet Muhammad is a mortal 3:144
3:144 Muhammad is not except a Messenger; Messengers have passed away before him. If he dies or is killed, will you turn about on your heels? And he who turns on his heels will not harm Allah a thing. Allah will recompense the thankful.
# وَمَا مُحَمَّدٌ إِلاَّ رَسُولٌ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِ الرُّسُلُ أَفَإِن مَّاتَ أَوْ قُتِلَ انقَلَبْتُمْ عَلَى أَعْقَابِكُمْ وَمَن يَنقَلِبْ عَلَى عَقِبَيْهِ فَلَن يَضُرَّ اللَّهَ شَيْئاً وَسَيَجْزِي اللَّهُ الشَّاكِرِينَ 144
|@ Reward of this life and the Everlasting Life 3:145
3:145 It is not for any soul to die except by the permission of Allah a postponed book and he who desires the reward of this world, We shall give him of it, and he who desires the reward of the Everlasting Life, We shall give him of it. And We will recompense the thankful.
# وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفْسٍ أَن تَمُوتَ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ كِتَاباً مُّؤَجَّلاً وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَمَن يُرِدْ ثَوَابَ الآخِرَةِ نُؤْتِهِ مِنْهَا وَسَنَجْزِي الشَّاكِرِينَ 145
|@ Strength of faith 3:146-148
3:146 There has been many a Prophet with whom many of the (the people of the) Lord have fought and they did not faint when they were smitten in the way of Allah, neither did they weaken, nor did they humble themselves, and Allah loves the patient.
# وَكَأَيِّن مِّن نَّبِيٍّ قَاتَلَ مَعَهُ رِبِّيُّونَ كَثِيرٌ فَمَا وَهَنُوا لِمَا أَصَابَهُمْ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَمَا ضَعُفُوا وَمَا اسْتَكَانُوا وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ الصَّابِرِينَ 146
3:147 Their only words were, ‘Lord, forgive us our sins and that we exceeded in our affair, make us firm of foot and give us victory over the unbelievers.’
# وَمَا كَانَ قَوْلَهُمْ إِلاَّ أَن قَالُوا رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى القَومِ الكَافِرِينَ 147
3:148 And Allah gave them the reward of this life, and the best reward of the Everlasting Life. Allah loves the good-doers.
# فَآتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ ثَوَابَ الدُّنْيَا وَحُسْنَ ثَوَابِ الآخِرَةِ وَاللَّهُ يُحِبُّ المُحْسِنِينَ 148
|@ Seek the guidance of knowledgeable Islamic authorities 3:149-150
3:149 Believers, if you obey those who disbelieve they will turn you upon your heels and you will turn to be losers.
# يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِن تُطِيعُوا الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَلَى أَعْقَابِكُمْ فَتَنقَلِبُوا خَاسِرِينَ 149
3:150 But Allah is your Sponsor. He is the Best of victors.
# بَلِ اللَّهُ مَوْلاكُمْ وَهُوَ خَيْرُ النَّاصِرِينَ 150
