|@ Which of the signs of Allah do you disbelieve 40:78-85
40:78 We sent other Messengers before you; of some, We have already told you, of others We have not told you. Yet it was not for any Messenger to bring a verse except by the permission of Allah. And when the command of Allah comes the matter will be justly decided; and the vain-doers will be lost.
# وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا رُسُـلاً مِّن قَبْلِكَ مِنْهُم مَّن قَصَصْنَا عَلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّن لَّمْ نَقْصُصْ عَلَيْكَ وَمَا كَانَ لِرَسُولٍ أَن يَأْتِيَ بِآيَةٍ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِ اللَّهِ فَإِذَا جَاءَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ قُضِيَ بِالْحَقِّ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ المُبْطِلُونَ 78
40:79 It is Allah who has provided you with cattle, some that you ride and some that you eat,
# اللَّهُ الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ الأَنْعَامَ لِتَرْكَبُوا مِنْهَا وَمِنْهَا تَأْكُلُونَ 79
40:80 and for you there are other uses in them, and that upon them you may reach a need in your chests, and upon them and on ships you are carried.
# وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَلِتَبْلُغُوا عَلَيْهَا حَاجَةً فِي صُدُورِكُمْ وَعَلَيْهَا وَعَلَى الفُلْكِ تُحْمَلُونَ 80
40:81 He shows you His signs. Now which of the signs of Allah do you disbelieve?
# وَيُرِيكُمْ آيَاتِهِ فَأَيَّ آيَاتِ اللَّهِ تُنكِرُونَ 81
40:82 Have they never journeyed through the land and seen what was the end of those who have gone before them? They were stronger than themselves in might and left firmer traces upon the earth; yet, whatsoever they earned did not help them.
# أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ فَيَنظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ كَانُوا أَكْثَرَ مِنْهُمْ وَأَشَدَّ قُوَّةً وَآثَاراً فِي الأَرْضِ فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ 82
40:83 When their Messengers brought them clear verses they rejoiced in such knowledge as they had; but they were encompassed by that which they mocked.
# فَلَمَّا جَاءَتْهُمْ رُسُلُهُم بِالْبَيِّنَاتِ فَرِحُوا بِمَا عِنْدَهُم مِّنَ العِلْمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُونَ 83
40:84 And when they saw Our Might, they said, ‘We believe in Allah alone, and we disbelieve in that we used to associate with Him.’
# فَلَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا قَالُوا آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ وَحْدَهُ وَكَفَرْنَا بِمَا كُنَّا بِهِ مُشْرِكِينَ 84
40:85 But when they saw Our Might their belief did not benefit them! It is the way of Allah that has passed concerning His worshipers. There, the unbelievers shall be lost.
# فَلَمْ يَكُ يَنفَعُهُمْ إِيمَانُهُمْ لَمَّا رَأَوْا بَأْسَنَا سُنَّتَ اللَّهِ الَتِي قَدْ خَلَتْ فِي عِبَادِهِ وَخَسِرَ هُنَالِكَ الكَافِرُونَ 85
|@FUSSILAT 41 Distinguished – Fussilat
1:1 In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
# بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 1
41:1 HaMeem.
# حم 1
|@ The Koran gives good news and warns 41:2-8
41:2 A sending down from the Merciful, the Most Merciful.
# تَنزِيلٌ مِّنَ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ 2
41:3 A Book, the verses of which are distinguished, an Arabic Koran for a nation who know.
# كِتَابٌ فُصِّلَتْ آيَاتُهُ قُرْآناً عَرَبِياًّ لِّقَوْمٍ يَعْلَمُونَ 3
41:4 It bears glad tidings and a warning, yet most of them turn away and do not listen.
# بَشِيراً وَنَذِيراً فَأَعْرَضَ أَكْثَرُهُمْ فَهُمْ لاَ يَسْمَعُونَ 4
41:5 They say, ‘Our hearts are veiled from that to which you call us, and in our ears there is heaviness. And between us and you is a veil. So work (as you will) and we are working.’
# وَقَالُوا قُلُوبُنَا فِي أَكِنَّةٍ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَا إِلَيْهِ وَفِي آذَانِنَا وَقْرٌ وَمِنْ بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٌ فَاعْمَلْ إِنَّنَا عَامِلُونَ 5
41:6 Say (Prophet Muhammad), ‘I am only a human like you, to whom it is revealed that your God is One God. Therefore be straight with Him and ask Him to forgive you. Woe to the idolaters,
# قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُكُمْ يُوحَى إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَا إِلَهُكُمْ إِلَهٌ وَاحِدٌ فَاسْتَقِيمُوا إِلَيْهِ وَاسْتَغْفِرُوهُ وَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُشْرِكِينَ 6
41:7 who do not pay charity and disbelieve in the Everlasting Life.
# الَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْتُونَ الزَّكَاةَ وَهُم بِالآخِرَةِ هُمْ كَافِرُونَ 7
41:8 For those who believe and do good works is an enduring wage.’
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَهُمْ أَجْرٌ غَيْرُ مَمْنُونٍ 8
|@ The creation of the earth and the heavens 41:9-12
41:9 Say, ‘Do you disbelieve in Him who created the earth in two days? And do you set up equals with Him? He is the Lord of the Worlds.’
# قُلْ أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَكْفُرُونَ بِالَّذِي خَلَقَ الأَرْضَ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ وَتَجْعَلُونَ لَهُ أَندَاداً ذَلِكَ رَبُّ العَالَمِينَ 9
41:10 He set firm mountains on top (of the earth) and He blessed it. And in four days He ordained in it many provisions, equal to those who ask.
# وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ مِن فَوْقِهَا وَبَارَكَ فِيهَا وَقَدَّرَ فِيهَا أَقْوَاتَهَا فِي أَرْبَعَةِ أَيَّامٍ سَوَاءً لِّلسَّائِلِينَ 10
41:11 Then He willed to the heaven when it was smoke, and to it and the earth He said, ‘Come willingly, or unwillingly.’ ‘We come willingly,’ they answered.
# ثُمَّ اسْتَوَى إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٌ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلأَرْضِ ائْتِيَا طَوْعاً أَوْ كَرْهاً قَالَتَا أَتَيْنَا طَائِعِينَ 11
41:12 In two days He determined them seven heavens, and He revealed to each heaven its commands. We adorned the lowest heaven with lamps and preserve them. Such is the decree of the Almighty, the Knower.
# فَقَضَاهُنَّ سَبْعَ سَمَوَاتٍ فِي يَوْمَيْنِ وَأَوْحَى فِي كُلِّ سَمَاءٍ أَمْرَهَا وَزَيَّنَّا السَّمَاءَ الدُّنْيَا بِمَصَابِيحَ وَحِفْظاً ذَلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ العَزِيزِ العَلِيمِ 12
|@ Prophet Muhammad is told to remind people of the devastation that overtook former generations because of their disbelief in the message given to their prophet 41:13-18
41:13 But if they turn away, say, ‘I have given you warning of a thunderbolt similar to that which overtook Aad and Thamood.’
# فَإِنْ أَعْرَضُوا فَقُلْ أَنذَرْتُكُمْ صَاعِقَةً مِّثْلَ صَاعِقَةِ عَادٍ وَثَمُودَ 13
41:14 When their Messengers came to them from before them and behind them, (saying), ‘Worship none except Allah, ‘ they answered, ‘Had it been the will of our Lord, He would have sent down angels. So we disbelieve in the Message with which you were sent.’
# إِذْ جَاءَتْهُمُ الرُّسُلُ مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُوا إِلاَّ اللَّهَ قَالُوا لَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّنَا لأَنزَلَ مَلائِكَةً فَإِنَّا بِمَا أُرْسِلْتُم بِهِ كَافِرُونَ 14
41:15 As for Aad, they behaved proudly in the earth without right. ‘Who is stronger than us?’ they would say could they not see that Allah, who created them, is stronger than they? But they disbelieved Our signs.
# فَأَمَّا عَادٌ فَاسْتَكْبَرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ بِغَيْرِ الحَقِّ وَقَالُوا مَنْ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةً أَوَ لَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّ اللَّهَ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُمْ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُمْ قُوَّةً وَكَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ 15
41:16 Then, on the ominous days, We loosed against them a howling wind that We might let them taste the punishment of humiliation in this life; but more humiliating will be the punishment of the Everlasting Life and they will not be helped.
# فَأَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحاً صَرْصَراً فِي أَيَّامٍ نَّحِسَاتٍ لِّنُذِيقَهُمْ عَذَابَ الخِزْيِ فِي الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَلَعَذَابُ الآخِرَةِ أَخْزَى وَهُمْ لاَ يُنصَرُونَ 16
41:17 As for Thamood, We (offered) them Our Guidance, but they preferred blindness to guidance. So a thunderbolt of the humiliating punishment seized them because of what they had earned;
# وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا العَمَى عَلَى الهُدَى فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَاعِقَةُ العَذَابِ الهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ 17
41:18 and We saved those who believed and feared Allah.
# وَنَجَّيْنَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَكَانُوا يَتَّقُونَ 18
|@ The testifying of the hearing, eyes and skin 41:19-25
41:19 On the Day when the enemies of Allah will be rightfully gathered together before the Fire,
# وَيَوْمَ يُحْشَرُ أَعْدَاءُ اللَّهِ إِلَى النَّارِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ 19
41:20 when they reach it, their hearing, eyes and skins will testify against them for what they were doing.
# حَتَّى إِذَا مَا جَاءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيْهِمْ سَمْعُهُمْ وَأَبْصَارُهُمْ وَجُلُودُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 20
41:21 ‘Why did you bear witness against us, ‘ they will ask their skins, and they will reply, ‘Allah has given us speech, as He has given speech to everything. It was He who created you the first time, and to Him you shall return.
# وَقَالُوا لِجُلُودِهِمْ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمْ عَلَيْنَا قَالُوا أَنطَقَنَا اللَّهُ الَّذِي أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمْ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ 21
41:22 It is not that you covered yourselves so that your hearing, eyes and skin could not bear witness against you but you thought that Allah did not know much of that which you do.
# وَمَا كُنتُمْ تَسْتَتِرُونَ أَن يَشْهَدَ عَلَيْكُمْ سَمْعُكُمْ وَلاَ أَبْصَارُكُمْ وَلاَ جُلُودُكُمْ وَلَكِن ظَنَنتُمْ أَنَّ اللَّهَ لاَ يَعْلَمُ كَثِيراً مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ 22
41:23 Rather, it is the thoughts you thought about your Lord that have destroyed you, therefore, this morning you find yourselves among the losers.’
# وَذَلِكُمْ ظَنُّكُمُ الَّذِي ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمْ أَرْدَاكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم مِّنَ الخَاسِرِينَ 23
41:24 Even if they are patient the Fire shall still be their lodging, and if they seek pardon, they shall not be among those who are pardoned.
# فَإِن يَصْبِرُوا فَالنَّارُ مَثْوًى لَّهُمْ وَإِن يَسْتَعْتِبُوا فَمَا هُم مِّنَ المُعْتَبِينَ 24
41:25 We have assigned companions to them, who make what is before them and behind them seem fair to them. The statement has been realized against them in nations of people and jinn alike that passed away before them they were indeed the losers.
# وَقَيَّضْنَا لَهُمْ قُرَنَاءَ فَزَيَّنُوا لَهُم مَّا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَحَقَّ عَلَيْهِمُ القَوْلُ فِي أُمَمٍ قَدْ خَلَتْ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّنَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا خَاسِرِينَ 25
|@ The people of Hell 41:26-29
41:26 The unbelievers say, ‘Do not listen to this Koran, and talk idly about it so that you might be overcome.’
# وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لاَ تَسْمَعُوا لِهَذَا القُرْآنِ وَالْغَوْا فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَغْلِبُونَ 26
41:27 We will let the unbelievers taste a terrible punishment, and recompense them with the worst of what they were doing.
# فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا عَذَاباً شَدِيداً وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَسْوَأَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ 27
41:28 The Fire, that is the recompense of the enemies of Allah. There it is that they will be lodged for eternity, a recompense for their disbelief of Our verses.
# ذَلِكَ جَزَاءُ أَعْدَاءِ اللَّهِ النَّارُ لَهُمْ فِيهَا دَارُ الخُلْدِ جَزَاءً بِمَا كَانُوا بِآيَاتِنَا يَجْحَدُونَ 28
41:29 The unbelievers will say, ‘Lord, show us the jinn and people who led us astray, to put them under our feet so that they are among the lowest.’
# وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا رَبَّنَا أَرِنَا اللَّذَيْنِ أَضَلاَّنَا مِنَ الجِنِّ وَالإِنسِ نَجْعَلْهُمَا تَحْتَ أَقْدَامِنَا لِيَكُونَا مِنَ الأَسْفَلِينَ 29
|@ The people of Paradise 41:30-33
41:30 The angels will descend on those who said, ‘Allah is Our Lord,’ and have then gone straight, (saying,) ‘Be neither fearful, nor sad; rejoice in the Paradise you have been promised.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا رَبُّنَا اللَّهُ ثُمَّ اسْتَقَامُوا تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيْهِمُ المَلائِكَةُ أَلاَّ تَخَافُوا وَلاَ تَحْزَنُوا وَأَبْشِرُوا بِالْجَنَّةِ الَتِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ 30
41:31 We are your guides in this world and in the Everlasting Life. There, you shall have all that your souls desire, and all that you ask for
# نَحْنُ أَوْلَيَاؤُكُمْ فِي الحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَفِي الآخِرَةِ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَشْتَهِي أَنفُسُكُمْ وَلَكُمْ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ 31
41:32 as hospitality from One, the Forgiving, the Most Merciful.’
# نُزُلاً مِّنْ غَفُورٍ رَّحِيمٍ 32
41:33 And, who is better in saying than he who invites to Allah, does what is right, and says, ‘Surely, I am of those who surrender (Muslims).’
# وَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ قَوْلاً مِّمَّن دَعَا إِلَى اللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحاً وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ المُسْلِمِينَ 33
|@ Good and evil deeds 41:34-35
41:34 Good and evil deeds are not equal. Repel with that which is most just, and see, the one whom there is enmity between you will be as if he were a loyal guide.
# وَلاَ تَسْتَوِي الحَسَنَةُ وَلاَ السَّيِّئَةُ ادْفَعْ بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ فَإِذَا الَّذِي بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَهُ عَدَاوَةٌ كَأَنَّهُ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٌ 34
41:35 But none will receive it except those who are patient and, none shall receive it, except he who has a great share.
# وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ الَّذِينَ صَبَرُوا وَمَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلاَّ ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ 35
|@ Seek refuge with Allah when you are provoked by satan 41:36
41:36 If a provocation from satan should provoke you, seek refuge in Allah. He is the Hearer, the Knower.
# وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ نَزْغٌ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ العَلِيمُ 36
|@ Prostrating only to Allah 41:37
41:37 Among His signs are the night and the day, and the sun and the moon. But do not prostrate yourselves before the sun or the moon; rather prostrate before Allah, who created them both, if it is He whom you worship.
# وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ وَالشَّمْسُ وَالْقَمَرُ لاَ تَسْجُدُوا لِلشَّمْسِ وَلاَ لِلْقَمَرِ وَاسْجُدُوا لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ 37
|@ Description of a believer 41:38
41:38 But if they become proud, those who are with your Lord exalt Him by day and night, and never grow weary.
# فَإِنِ اسْتَكْبَرُوا فَالَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ يُسَبِّحُونَ لَهُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَالنَّهَارِ وَهُمْ لاَ يَسْأَمُونَ 38
|@ The signs of Allah in the earth 41:39
41:39 And among His signs is that you see the earth humble; then when He sends down rain upon it, it quivers and swells. He who revives is He who revives the dead, surely, He is powerful over everything.
# وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنَّكَ تَرَى الأَرْضَ خَاشِعَةً فَإِذَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْهَا المَاءَ اهْتَزَّتْ وَرَبَتْ إِنَّ الَّذِي أَحْيَاهَا لَمُحْيِي المُوتَى إِنَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ 39
|@ There is no falsehood in the Koran 41:40-44
41:40 Those who disbelieve Our verses when it comes to them are not hidden from Us. Is he who is cast in the Fire better than he who comes in safety on the Day of Resurrection? Do as you will, surely, He sees the things you do.
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُلْحِدُونَ فِي آيَاتِنَا لاَ يَخْفَوْنَ عَلَيْنَا أَفَمَن يُلْقَى فِي النَّارِ خَيْرٌ أَم مَّن يَأْتِي آمِناً يَوْمَ القِيَامَةِ اعْمَلُوا مَا شِئْتُمْ إِنَّهُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ 40
41:41 Those who disbelieve in the Remembrance when it comes to them and indeed this is a Mighty Book
# إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِالذِّكْرِ لَمَّا جَاءَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُ لَكِتَابٌ عَزِيزٌ 41
41:42 falsehood does not come to it from before it or from behind it. It is a sending down from the One, the Wise, the Praised.
# لاَ يَأْتِيهِ البَاطِلُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَلاَ مِنْ خَلْفِهِ تَنزِيلٌ مِّنْ حَكِيمٍ حَمِيدٍ 42
41:43 Nothing that is said to you has not already been said to other Messengers before you. Indeed, your Lord is a Lord of forgiveness, but stern in retribution.
# مَا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلاَّ مَا قَدْ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبْلِكَ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغْفِرَةٍ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٍ 43
41:44 Had We made the Koran in a non-Arabic (language) they would have said, ‘If only its verses were distinguished! Why in (a) non-Arabic (language, when the Prophet is) an Arab? ‘ Say, ‘To the believers it is a guidance and a healing. But to those who do not believe, there is a heaviness in their ears, to them it is blindness. They are those called from afar.’
# وَلَوْ جَعَلْنَاهُ قُرْآناً أَعْجَمِياًّ لَّقَالُوا لَوْلا فُصِّلَتْ آيَاتُهُ أَأَعْجَمِيٌّ وَعَرَبِيٌّ قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ وَالَّذِينَ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًى أُوْلَئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ 44
|@ Those who disputed the Book given to Moses 41:45
41:45 We gave the Book to Moses, but there were disputes about it, and had it not been for a Word that preceded from your Lord (their disputes) would have been decided between them. But they are in disquieting doubt about it.
# وَلَقَدْ آتَيْنَا مُوسَى الكِتَابَ فَاخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ وَلَوْلا كَلِمَةٌ سَبَقَتْ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيْنَهُمْ وَإِنَّهُمْ لَفِي شَكٍّ مِّنْهُ مُرِيبٍ 45
|@ Allah does not wrong His worshipers 41:46
41:46 He who does good does it for himself; and he who does evil does so against it. Your Lord never wrongs His worshipers.
# مَنْ عَمِلَ صَالِحاً فَلِنَفْسِهِ وَمَنْ أَسَاءَ فَعَلَيْهَا وَمَا رَبُّكُ بِظَلاَّمٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ 46
|@ Those who were associated with Allah will desert their followers 41:47-48
41:47 To Him is referred the knowledge of the Hour. No fruit sprouts forth from its sheath, no female conceives or is delivered, except with His Knowledge. On the Day He will call to them, ‘Where then are My associates?’ they will reply, ‘We proclaim to You that none of us can bear witness.’
# إِلَيْهِ يُرَدُّ عِلْمُ السَّاعَةِ وَمَا تَخْرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَاتٍ مِّنْ أَكْمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحْمِلُ مِنْ أُنثَى وَلاَ تَضَعُ إِلاَّ بِعِلْمِهِ وَيَوْمَ يُنَادِيهِمْ أَيْنَ شُرَكَائِي قَالُوا آذَنَّاكَ مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٍ 47
41:48 Those they used to call upon before will go away from them, and they shall think that they have no asylum.
# وَضَلَّ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَدْعُونَ مِن قَبْلُ وَظَنُّوا مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٍ 48
|@ The ingratitude of mankind 41:49-54
41:49 Mankind never wearies of supplicating for goodness, but when evil befalls him he is downcast and (grows) desperate.
# لاَ يَسْأَمُ الإِنسَانُ مِن دُعَاءِ الخَيْرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَيَئُوسٌ قَنُوطٌ 49
41:50 And if We give him a taste of mercy from Us after his affliction has befallen him, he is sure to say, ‘This is my own. I do not think the Hour will ever come. And even if I am returned to my Lord, with Him there is for me the finest reward (Paradise).’ Then, We shall tell the unbelievers what they did and let them taste a harsh punishment.
# وَلَئِنْ أَذَقْنَاهُ رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا مِنْ بَعْدِ ضَرَّاءَ مَسَّتْهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَذَا لِي وَمَا أَظُنُّ السَّاعَةَ قَائِمَةً وَلَئِن رُّجِعْتُ إِلَى رَبِّي إِنَّ لِي عِندَهُ لَلْحُسْنَى فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِمَا عَمِلُوا وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنْ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٍ 50
41:51 When We favor a human, he swerves away and withdraws aside, but when evil befalls him he is full of unending prayer.
# وَإِذَا أَنْعَمْنَا عَلَى الإِنسَانِ أَعْرَضَ وَنَأَى بِجَانِبِهِ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ الشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَاءٍ عَرِيضٍ 51
41:52 Say, ‘Think, if this (Koran) is indeed from Allah, and you disbelieve in it, who is further astray than he who is in a wide schism?
# قُلْ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ اللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرْتُم بِهِ مَنْ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنْ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقٍ بَعِيدٍ 52
41:53 We will show them Our signs in all the horizons and in themselves, until it is clear to them that it is the truth. Is it not sufficient that your Lord is witness over everything?’
# سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الحَقُّ أَوَ لَمْ يَكْفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ شَهِيدٌ 53
41:54 Are they not in doubt concerning the Meeting with their Lord? Attention, He encompasses everything.
# أَلاَ إِنَّهُمْ فِي مِرْيَةٍ مِّن لِّقَاءِ رَبِّهِمْ أَلاَ إِنَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ مُّحِيطٌ 54
