Morning Duas

Dua No. 1

Recite Dua after finishing the prayer with salaam:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا ، وَرِزْقًا طَـيِّـبًا ، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

Transliteration: allaahumma innee as’aluka ‛ilman naafi‛an, warizqan ṭayyiban, wa ‛amalan mutaqabbalaa
Translation: O Allah, I ask You for knowledge which is beneficial and sustenance which is good, and deeds which are acceptable.

Dua No. 2

Dua and remembrance after prayer

  • لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ، وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

  • رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ

  • رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَسُوءِ الْكِبَرِ ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ

Translation : The messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever says (translation of which is):

“None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, He gives life and causes death and He is over all things omnipotent.”ten times is like the one who had freed four souls from among the children of Ismaa’eel.[In another narration: “who ever says it after Maghrib prayer, Allah will send guardians (i.e. angels) to protect him (or her) from Shaytan until the morning, and will gain ten rewards and get ten bad deeds wiped off of his record”].
*Supplicate ten times in the evening (after the Asr or Maghrib) and in the morning (after Fajr prayers).

Transliteration: laa ilaaha ill-allaahu, waḥdahu laa shareeka lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, yuḥyee wa yumeetu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer.


Dua No. 3

Dua and remembrance in the morning

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلهِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِلهِ ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ ولَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Translation: We have reached the morning and at this very time unto Allah belongs all sovereignty and all praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is capable of all things.
My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what follows it and I seek refuge with You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it.My Lord, I seek refuge with You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I seek refuge with You from the torment in the Fire and the torment in the grave.Note: (Assabah) translated as morning refers to the time after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises.

Transliteration: aṣbaḥnaa wa aṣbaḥ-al-mulku lillaahi wal-ḥamdu lillaahi, laa ilaaha ill-allaahu waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer,

rabbi as’aluka khayra maa fee haadhal-yawmi wa khayra maa ba‛dahu, wa a‛oodhu bika min sharri haadhal-yawmi wa sharri maa ba‛dahu,rabbi a‛oodhu bika minal-kasali wa soo’il-kibari, rabbi a‛oodhu bika min ‛adhaabin fin-naari wa ‛adhaabin fil-qabr


Dua No. 4

Morning Dua:

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا ، وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ النُّشُورُ

Translation: O Allah, by your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we have reached the evening, by Your leave we live and die and unto You is our resurrection.

Note: (Assabah) translated as morning refers to the time after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises.(al-masa-a) translated as evening refers to the time after the Asr prayer until the sun sets, however some scholars say that it refers to the time after the sun sets and onwards.

Transliteration: Allaahumma bika aṣbaḥnaa wa bika amsaynaa, wa bika naḥyaa wa bika namootu wa ilayk-an-nushoor.

 Dua No. 5

Morning Dua for good Faith

أَصْبَحْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ الإِسْلامِ ، وَكَلِمَةِ الإِخْلاصِ ، وَ دِينِ نَبِـيِّـنَا مُحَمَّدٍ ، وَمِلَّةِ أَبِينَا إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ

Translation: We rise upon the ‘fitrah’ of Islam, and the ‘word of pure faith’, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and the religion of our forefather Ibraheem (peace be upon him), who was a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate others with Allah.

Note: ‘Fitrah’ means the religion of Islam, the way of Ibraheem (peace be upon him). ‘Word of Pure Faith’ means the Shahadah.(Assabah) translated as morning refers to the time after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises.

Transliteration: Aṣbaḥnaa ‛alaa fiṭratil-islaami, wa kalimatil-ikhlaaṣi, wa deeni nabiyyinaa muḥammadin, wa millati abeenaa ibraaheema ḥaneefan musliman wa maa kaana minal-mushrikeen.

Dua No. 6

Morning dua for forgiveness

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Translation: The Prophet said “The master supplication (most superior way) to ask for forgiveness from Allah is:

“O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You, You created me and I am Your slave and I abide to Your covenant and promise as best as I can, I seek refuge with You from the evil of which I have committed. I acknowledge Your favour upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for verily none can forgive sin except You.”(The prophet then) said: “If somebody says it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody says it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise.”

Transliteration: Allaahumma anta rabbiy laa ilaaha illaa anta, khalaqtanee wa ana ‛abduka, wa ana ‛alaa ‛ahdika wa wa‛dika masta-ṭa‛tu a‛oodhu bika min sharri maa ṣana‛tu, aboo’u laka bi ni‛matika ‛alayya wa aboo’u bi dhambee, faghfir lee fa innahu laa yaghfir-udh-dhunooba illaa ant.

Dua No. 7

Morning Dua for safeguard for a whole day

(بِسْمِ اللهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ (ثلاث مرات

Translation: The messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: ‘He who says in the morning and the evening of each day:
“In the name of Allah, by whose name nothing can cause harm neither on earth nor in the heaven and He is The All-Hearing, The All-Knowing.” (three times) Nothing shall harm him’
Transliteration: bismillaahil-ladhee laa yaḍurru ma‛asmihi shay’un fil-arḍi wa laa fis-samaa’i wa huwas-samee‛-ul-‛aleem (x3 to x10).

Dua No. 8

Morning Dua for praise to Allah

(سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْقِهِ ، وَرِضَا نَفْسِهِ ، وَزِنَةَ عَرْشِهِ ، وَمِدَادَ كَلِمَاتِهِ (ثلاث مرات

Translation: How far from imperfections Allah is and I praise Him by the number of His creations and His pleasure, and by the weight of His throne, and the ink of His words. (three times)
Transliteration: Subḥaan-allaahi wa biḥamdihi ‛adada khalqihi, wa riḍaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‛arshihi, wa midaada kalimaatihi (3x).

Dua No. 9

Morning Dua to praise Allah (quick & strong dua)

(سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ (مئة مرة

Translation: The messenger of Allah said: whoever says in the morning and the evening :

“How far from imperfections Allah is and I praise Him.” (one hundred times)None will come on the day of judgement with something better, except for someone who said the same.

*[And in another narration] His/her sins will be forgiven, even if they were like the foam of the sea.

Transliteration:  Subḥaan-allaahi wa biḥamdihi (100 times).

Dua No. 10

Morning Dua for Correct My Affairs

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَـيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ

Translation: O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.
Transliteration: Yaa ḥayyu yaa qayyoomu bi raḥmatika astagheeth, aṣliḥ lee sha’nee kullahu, wa laa takilnee ilaa nafsee ṭarfata ‛ayn.

Dua No. 11

Morning Dua for Rewards

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ ، وحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ ، وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Translation: The messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessing of Allah be upon him) said: Whoever says (translation of which is):

“None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.(one hundred times during the day)* will have the reward of freeing ten people (from bondage), one hundred good deeds will be written for him, hundred bad deeds will be wiped away and he has gained refuge from the devil for that day, and none shall come (on the day of judgement) with anything better except for someone who has done more (than this).

Transliteration:  Laa ilaaha ill-allaahu, waḥdahu laa shareeka lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-ḥamdu, wa huwa ‛alaa kulli shay’in qadeer (100x).

Dua No.12

Morning Dua for Praise Allah to forgiveness

(سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ (مئة مرة

“How far from imperfections (far removed from imperfections) Allah is and I praise Him.” (100 Times)
His sins will be forgiven, even if they were to be (as plenty-or many) as the sea foam.Ibn Hajar said in Al-fath:”Better to be said in the morning and the evening” as suggested in other hadeeths.
*To be said 100 times in the day and the night

 



Our Lord! Forgive us our sins as well as those of our brethren who proceeded us in faith and let not our hearts entertain any unworthy thoughts or feelings against [any of] those who have believed. Our Lord! You are indeed full of kindness and Most Merciful (59:10)
